All the resources you need for your Halloween shop.

As you know, Friday in iKidz we usually hold workshops with different themes. Usually, we take a particular party or concept to work with children vocabulary related, and then do crafts adapted to the maturation level of the kids.

Friday we did a Halloween workshop in which we would have had a great. How you can organize your Halloween a workshop in class or at home with your kids?

In today's post I leave all ideas and resources so that tomorrow is the most "terrifying" 😉

1. Begins learning new vocabulary.

Before you jump right into crafts, You must teach the little ones new vocabulary. I leave you a file that makes it easier for us to prepare for our little ones. The level of difficulty will depend on the age of your children.. In the workshop on Friday I had little ones between 6 and 9 years old, so I didn't want to complicate them too much.

2. Work the vocabulary through the game.

Simply reading the file is useless if you do not work on the vocabulary so that the little ones internalize it. To do this I usually use magnetic letters that the kids have to learn new words.

Further, in iKidz we have the “jumping circles”, a material that we have developed specifically for our students, and that it is nothing more than some circles with which you can carry out a lot of activities.

  • Dictate the words to the children and have them write them down.

  • write the words, distribute the circles on the floor, you are saying words and they have to go jumping to the word that corresponds.
  • In this photo you can see how we used them to connect the transports with their verbs, but for a Halloween workshop you can use them to unite those scary Halloween elements (skeleton, spider…), and those who like (Candy, etc.).

Play dough is also great for working on new vocabulary.. Ask the little ones to "write" the words with plasti while you dictate them to them.

Once you have worked vocabulary, It is time to do the exercises that you have on the sheet. You see, we always put exercises like word search, etc. What do you find most interesting?.

3. Crafts.

The possibilities for Halloween crafts are endless.. If you don't know which one to choose, think about what materials you have and how you can use them. Further, It is essential that you think about the age of your little ones; how are they handled with scissors, glue, etc.

As in the workshop on Friday I had little ones between 6 and 9 years old, we made crafts that weren't too complicated but required a bit of expertise with glue and scissors.

  • spiders.

To make these spiders you only need black felt, glue and moving eyes.

Cut felt strips to make spider legs. After, cut out a circle that will be the head.

Once you have all the elements cut out, you just have to paste them. So they move less, you can staple the "legs", so that later, with adding a little glue and sticking the head you have it.

My kids wanted to add a mouth and nose to their spiders. For this you only need a bit of colored cardboard and that's it 😉

  • mummies.

Mummies are one of my favorite Halloween crafts., firstly because we use recycled materials and, second, because they are usually super fun.

For the mummies you only need empty toilet paper rolls, and strips of kitchen paper.

with glue stick, go sticking the strips, the “worse” the little ones hit them, the better. Once you have the strips of paper glued, glue the moving eyes.

  • pumpkins.

A Halloween without pumpkins is not the same. For the pumpkins, simply draw the silhouette of the pumpkin on a piece of paper or cardboard., and let them decorate them. with the little ones, you can give them the eyes and the mouth so that they simply stick it.

4. Songs.

A fantastic way to end your workshop is by singing Halloween songs. You can also put the songs while you are working.

In this post a while ago I left 20 Halloween songs to learn English. Do not miss it!

I hope this post gives you many ideas to spend a fun Halloween afternoon.

Thanks for being there!
