The fall began just over a week ago and you probably already have observed the first signs of this romantic season.
Today I want to talk to some Crafts we can make with the kids during this time with two clear objectives:
- Become familiar with the features of this station.
- To practice English in a fun and funny.
What benefits have the craft in language learning?
One of the most fun ways to enhance the expression of the kids, either in their mother tongue or a second language, are crafts.
With children learn crafts inadvertently language areas ranging from, follow directions until vocabulary of all kinds, through learn to listen, perform sequences of actions and remember past events.
As parents and teachers is important to be clear about what we want to achieve with this activity. That way we can prepare multi-purpose activities:
- Sounds based activities. We have seen on occasion activities that revolve around a letter. In this case, we can prepare an activity whose main character is the sound "s" or the "r"And search for words containing these sounds. The child will not be aware that these sounds are working specifically, but I assure you that at the end of the activity these sounds are much more internalized than the rest.
- Activities based on questions and answers. The performance of an activity or craft is not only important at the moment of realization. It is also important before and after.
- Plantead the small questions before, do you think we do ... Show him the materials that will work and that English vocabulary repasad.
- Questions during making activity. What are we doing, how do you think it will.
- Questions then. When we finish ask him what you think, as has been. Ask him if he has fun and if you like to repeat the activity at some point. It is very interesting to know the opinion of children.
- Activities for grammar review. We can also perform activities in which we use specific grammatical structures.
- Activities for work flow. Play with your child to say the steps in the quick activity, then slow, only with the letter "is", now with the "i". That way you will be working on fluency.
4 crafts related to fall.
Then we'll see 4 activities relate to the fall, in which you can implement what we've seen previously.
Activity 1. Autumn learn vocabulary.
We have seen in the past the importance of touch and feel what we are learning. When the kids learn new vocabulary is much better if they manipulate those elements that are learning.
In the activity you Plated below, the ideal is that you leave the park or any area you are starting to drop leaves and can see some of the fruits of autumn.
Gather leaves together and at the same time see things like asking: “What you are doing?” “What do you see?".
I leave a vocabulary that you can work. Logically, depending on the age of the little you have to reduce or enlarge.
Names:
- Fall (US) Autumn (UK): autumn.
- Leaf: sheet.
- Rake: rake.
- Bag: bag.
- Tree: tree.

It is a very simple activity but the kids love it.
You need only sheets of different sizes, Brushes, colorful paintings and white paper.
Gather the blade and the rough area pintadla. You can take advantage and explain to the child that the leaves tend to have a smoother and a more rugged area in which are perceived almost perfectly "nerves" that compose it and this area is called rib. Let the little fingers follow nerves explicadle sheet and that's what we paint is to be written into the sheet.
Graffiti sheet in the area of the rib and very cuidadito colocadla white paper on lobbying. Slowly lift up the sheet and see how it has been marked on the paper form.
You can use one color or mix colors. If you use the small autumn hues will love.
From here you can make the changes that you feel hungry more. Such as putting one color at a time and wait to see what the end result or mix colors on the sheet and transfer to paper.
If you do this activity would love to see some of your photos with the result!
Activity 3. Abstract art.
In this activity you can also use the leaves that you have collected in one activity, but ideally the realicéis independently because this activity so we will look for is that, besides having fun, your child perform a sequence of actions in English.
Let's see what it will be and then we will see activity sequences in which you can divide it so that the child learns English Equity.
For this activity you will need: leaves, pair of scissors, glue and sheets of white paper.
First, collect leaves, once we have the leaves and other material prepared, We find a place where we have room to work. This is very important, children must have a place of "work" fixed, where you have enough space to do the activities that you propose.
We ask the child to cut the leaves with scissors or crumble with hands in irregular pieces. Once we have the heap with pieces of leaves we will explain you can do whatever you want with those leaves, from a tree otherwise, but only using the pieces of leaves. Explicadle that the easiest way is to make the glue itself, Only that way will have to drop bits of leaves on paper and see how you get stuck. Surprise, We have a tree!!!
You can also ask him to paint the picture first and later put glue.
What actions can work in this activity?
- Collect leaves: Collect leaves.
- Crumble or cut the leaves: Shred or cut leaves.

To our friendly caterpillar need: moving eyes (You can buy bags in Chinese) chestnuts, an auger (He used only the adult), heavy thread and needle, but if we make the holes of the chestnuts large enough children can get without the needle thread.
We each chestnut hole with the help of Barrina and we let the kids prepared to only have to put the child. We tightened the last nut so that it does not slip out and let placing chestnuts depending on how long you want the crawler. When we all joined chestnuts, stick in the mobile chestnut eyes serves as head of the caterpillar and decorate to your liking: You can draw you a smile, put hair ... what you can think of!
