As "you hear", few weeks ago I started to organize linguistic dives for next summer aimed at children between 8 and 17 years old, and certainly when you see schools that have selected more than one will prefer to leave the kids with the grandparents and come at us 😉

These dives will take place during July or August and I, personally, I will travel with a group of 15 children, so that throughout your stay you will have a permanent contact me there.

Before showing you the super cabbages and camps that we have selected in England and Scotland, I think it is important that we do a little review of the main advantages that language immersion can bring for your children.

1. Improved personal autonomy. From my point of view, almost as important as improving different aspects related to the language. Most of these language immersion courses encourage personal autonomy, since not being under the wing of his parents, the little ones must fend for themselves.

2. Increase confidence when speaking English. Logically, everyone finds it a little difficult at first, but when they begin to see that they need the language to make themselves understood and communicate with other native children, and they can do it, They develop greater confidence and self-esteem when communicating in a language that is not their own. Further, These courses help them realize that it's okay if at first we don't express ourselves as well as we would like., because the important thing is to make ourselves understand and improve little by little.

3. Increased ability to communicate orally. Logically, This is the main objective of these courses, and it is achieved more easily than in a conventional environment because during the language immersions the children are constantly listening to English being spoken., and they constantly need to express themselves in the same language. In this way they acquire, almost innately, grammatical structures and the phonological register, and so they improve almost without realizing it.

4. Immersion in the country's culture. From my point of view, another fundamental advantage that we sometimes forget. When children take these types of trips, They are not only learning or improving a certain language. They also have the opportunity to learn about a different culture., that will give you a much broader vision of our world. Our knowledge is not only what we learn in the classroom, Much of it is the experiences we live.

5. Motivation. These types of experiences are an “injection” of motivation for the little ones.. When they see the type of experiences they can access thanks to the language, and who can only access them by speaking English, perceive the language in a more practical and useful way.

As you will see, There are many advantages of this type of courses. But, further, when we seek linguistic immersion, son Other characteristics that we must take into account:

• Schools and camps with little influx of Spanish speakers.
• Let the children be accompanied by, at least, a person from the company organizing the trip, so that you can look after your interests and keep us informed at all times.
• Be careful with the prices! There are companies that offer prices that seem cheap., but then they do not include the activities, transfers, classes, etc.

We do meet these characteristics, I personally will be the one traveling with the little ones., and we have selected a series of schools where other centers or companies do not usually go.. Logically, It is possible that we will meet some Spaniards who go on their own, but they will be the least.
