There are many times when dealing with parents of my students issues related to the use of new technologies in the education of their children. Most often it agrees with the fact that new technologies are very attractive for small and generally tend to help your learning and entertainment. But it is also true that there are still skeptical parents to the use of new technologies to believe that the use of these will not let their children develop real skills related to the real world.

Today I want to address this issue because I believe that in this case we can not speak or white or black, but rather a gray scale we can take depending on our goals and interests.

Personally I think the important question on this issue is not the use or not of new technologies, the point is rather how we do.

Clearly, if we let our kids play for hours with the computer, tablet or mobile without any control, however much they are playing educational Apps that can never be good, but neither it is that children who were born in the "Digital Era", they are "native technologies" have never used a mobile device or are familiar with them since they are the future.

Where is the midpoint? From my point of view, the midpoint between analog and digital is to use new technologies to our children and to link digital to analog, not create barriers. What does this mean? The Applications should be complementary to education and training received our kids, not education itself. We can not pretend that an app do all the work, just as we can not pretend to be the teacher alone educate our son or single parents who do all the work. Education should be a set of elements that fight for the same purpose: help children to become autonomous, independent, with strong values and prepared for a competitive world.

Today I speak of 4 Applications They are working in this line, that is to say, breaking barriers between analog and digital and facilitating their hard work dads.

They are mostly applications that help engage children in the household chores and are mainly based on the reward system already known to all of you.

FAMILY TEAM

Family Team

Surely the parents of my students will be strongly identified with this App. It is based on a reward system, in this case, associated with household chores. Earlier this week plateamos a task to each member of the family, every day we will see if this task is completed or not, giving points to those family members who have achieved their objectives, Thus at the end of week which have obtained more points they will be rewarded.

As you can see the relationship between digital and analog is obvious.

CHOREMONSTER

Chore Monster

Is it difficult for your child dress in the morning to go to school? With Choremoster sure that time will be much more bearable.

The system is basically the same as the Family Team, in this case the kids accumulate "monsters". You can add your sons prizes "buy" based on the points they have obtained. Surely they will be hoping to earn points to reach their rewards!

YOU RULE CHORES

You rule your choreFrom my point of view, You Rule Chores it is the best application of this type, the downside: It is only available for Apple.

What "pimp" This App is that each task has a different character. Developments in the tasks presented in the form of bars that are growing and each bar is customized according to the characteristics of each character.

The system to achieve the objectives is the same as the other two apps we've seen: If the goals are achieved, the winner will be rewarded. In this case, parents make "referees". 'Surely your children will love!!

TAILS

queuesThis App is more directed at parents than children themselves, but you can help "spread" the chores and make the kids work together.

It is basically an organizer with which you can manage from the shopping list, the schedules, school activities and common calendars for not overlap the activities of different family members. As I said before, very practical in this case for adults.

As you can see, analog and digital need not be at odds and that can be applied to almost any App, not only work-sharing applications. Everything will depend on how planteéis and what you will involve yourselves.

I personally encourage you to that you involucréis and juguéis with your kids because that is when the techniques that you utilicéis, whether analog or digital, really they work and, therefore, really learn.

Kisses to all,
