15 fundamental qualities of any entrepreneur.

This Friday I had the opportunity to participate in the Villanueva University Center, at a round table on entrepreneurship in education with professionals of the stature of Teresa Iraburu from Kidsco Infant schools and Eduardo García from Espakeba.

Talking with entrepreneurs like Eduardo and Teresa offers you a unique point of view on the panorama of entrepreneurship in education in our country.

Further, it's an injection of energy to keep fighting, working and see that you are not alone, that the difficulties that I am encountering along the way are common to all of us who intend to change and do something different.

Last year I already wrote a post about keys that I consider fundamental to educate future entrepreneurs and today I want to reflect on what the situation of entrepreneurship in education is like, what we can do to promote it and what characteristics should these future entrepreneurs have.

There are many people who only consider that person an entrepreneur who decides to carry out an innovative action or does it in a different way. But from my point of view, Entrepreneur is anyone who decides to carry out an activity on their own, In a direct way, regular and profit-making.

I believe that both profiles require a series of fundamental qualities and, of course, they are both taking risks, both financial and personal.

When I spoke of the keys to educating a future entrepreneur, I gave you some tricks to promote qualities such as creativity, The responsability, etc. since children are small, but I did not go into describing what are the qualities that make some people decide on the path of entrepreneurship and others do not.

What qualities define an entrepreneurial person?

Entrepreneurial people are generally people dynamic, creative and imaginative but at the same time realistic. It is essential that they have the ability to imagine and create, but let them be aware of the reality that surrounds them.

They are people with a lot initiative, who are self-confident and extremely optimistic.

Further, they must be people autonomous and capable of designing their own project, otherwise, it will be difficult for them to get anywhere.

The patience and persistence they are also two fundamental characteristics. There are many obstacles that an entrepreneur faces along the way and they must have both skills if they want to have the ability to overcome them..

A characteristic that I consider fundamental is the restlessness to constantly learn. This is one of the points we emphasized the most on Friday, and something fundamental in both an educator and an entrepreneur. An entrepreneur must be up to date with everything related to his field, you should read everything you can and not get carried away by vague and superficial options.

The enthusiasm it is also essential. You would be surprised by the number of "entrepreneurs" who are developing a project in which they do not believe, And that shows. Is fundamental to believe in what you do, put all your energy and passion, because you will transmit it not only to your employees, but to all those around you including your clients.

By last, I would say that entrepreneurship is an attitude in life. The Entrepreneurs are people who see solutions where the rest see problems.

On Friday we commented the importance of knowing how to face failure. This is a fundamental point if you are thinking of undertaking in education or in any other field.

Keep in mind that the problems that you encounter are the same problems that your competition is going to encounter.. The difference between the successful entrepreneur and the one who does not achieve anything is the way of facing the problems that arise along the way.

It is essential that you discover what you love to do in life and pursue it until you get it. That's the attitude!

Finally I would like to ask you a couple of questions. Do you think that nowadays schools are educating themselves for entrepreneurship?? Do you think that children have the characteristics that we have discussed??

Thanks for being there!
